MEET SOFIAH THOM

Visionary and CEO of Temple Body Arts, Danyasa Eco-Retreat and Envision Festival in Costa Rica. Sofiah is an embodiment coach, author, sacred movement artist and entrepreneur committed to guiding women to embody their feminine power and birth their gifts into the world.

Sofiah is a divine feminine mentor and a leader for leaders, birthing a new paradigm. As an author, modern-day temple-dancer, and entrepreneur, Sofiah devotes herself to guiding women to embody their feminine power and birth their gifts into the world.

Creator and CEO of the Temple Body Arts Program for Embodied Feminine Leadership, Sofiah mentors women to design a life aligned with their essence and create the impact and income they desire while supporting the Rise of the Divine Feminine.

Sofiah has been teaching, speaking, and performing in-person and on-line around the globe for over 20 years. Driven by her lifelong passion for dance, creative expression, and feminine spirituality, Sofiah creates a safe and powerful container for recognizing one’s creative potential and power through sacred movement and inner exploration.

Sofiah is a fourth-generation Subud, an international spiritual movement with a core philosophy and practice that focuses on opening to the divine force within each person. Subud’s essence lies in supporting and honoring each practitioner’s personal direct experience of Divine Creative Spirit. Sofiah’s lifelong practice in this tradition shines through in her teaching, performance, and work.

Her passion lies in creating personal development systems based on recognizing one’s innate value and wisdom. The deeply personal and experiential nature of Sofiah’s work fosters life-changing transformations for her students.

Named after the Greek goddess of wisdom and creativity, Sofiah dedicates herself to continuously receiving, embodying, and transmuting divine energy through artistic expression. Driven by her boundless passion for dance and creative expression, Sofiah studied at the Naropa University and Tamalpa Institute in Dance Therapy, Performing Arts, and Expressive Healing Arts.

She studied traditional Indian temple dance in India, which led her to modern-day yoga practice. She trained in Soul Motion with Vin Marti and apprenticed under Melissa Michaels in The Five Rhythms and Rites of Passage. Anna Halprin, the founder of Tamalpa Institute and a pioneer in Dance Therapy, is one of her eternal muses and teachers.

Sofiah holds a Yoga Alliance E-RYT 300 certification, completing her Anusara teacher training. For almost a decade, Sofiah has been offering yoga teacher training emphasizing expressive healing arts and divine feminine mysteries infused with tantra yoga.

She is a renowned headlining teacher and performer at festivals around the world. Sofiah is known for inspiring ritual connection and expression of the divine feminine as a dancer and vocalist.

Alongside her husband Brendan and a handful of visionaries, Sofiah co-founded the Envision Festival in Costa Rica, a conscious festival celebrating music, art, and sacred movement.

Sofiah co-authored The Path of the Priestess Book: Discover Your Divine Purpose.

More recently, Sofiah has expanded into working with influential female mentors and thought leaders and speaking at forums and conferences worldwide.

Together, Sofiah and her husband co-founded Danyasa Eco-Retreat in the beautiful beach town of Dominical, Costa Rica, where they reside and continue to create magic.
